With the establishment of our sister company Vogelsang Service Süd (VSS) at the former Siemens site in Ruhstorf—where SIEMENS/LOHER explosion-proof motors were manufactured until 2021—we have significantly expanded our presence in southern Germany. The driving force behind this move was our commitment to improving our proximity to customers in southern Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The Ruhstorf facility offers 1,900 m² of workshop space equipped with lifting gear capable of handling loads up to 20 tons, enabling the balancing of rotors weighing up to 12 tons at a maximum of 4,660 rpm. In addition, mechanical machining on lathes and boring mills is possible for components weighing up to 12.5 tons. A test facility for acceptance and type testing is also available—in collaboration with a local partner, even up to 7.5 MW. The production of high-voltage windings continues to take place in Bochum.
A highly qualified team with in-depth expertise
The highly qualified staff, some of whom we were able to bring on board from Siemens/Loher, form the foundation for the team’s high quality and in-depth expertise. Our state-of-the-art workshop offers our customers all the services they have come to expect from our Bochum location. Our motto: One-stop service—both on-site and in the workshop. The team has fully equipped service vehicles and performs installation and diagnostic work directly at the customer’s location. Condition monitoring, ranging from vibration measurement to partial discharge measurement, is also part of VSS’s service portfolio.

Under the leadership of Managing Director Matthias Dankwardt, the VSS team has now grown to 17 employees. Markus Schwarzbauer, who was previously responsible for the assembly of low-voltage and Transnorm motors at Siemens Loher, oversees operations and the workshop. Susanne Lindinger and Yvonne Bauer handle the commercial side of the business—both bring many years of experience and a deep understanding of electric motors to the role.
The team also includes our versatile on-site installation specialists—Josef Schellhammer, Dietbert Winklhofer, and Alexander Michel—as well as our condition monitoring expert, Tobias Krenn. In the workshop, Damin Pojda serves as your contact person on behalf of Markus Schwarzbauer. He is supported by Franz Braun, Iwan Reuzkij, Florian Mayer, and Mariusz Gierlotka, who also oversee the test bench. Robert Huber, Joseph Himsl, and Hans Glas work in the mechanical department. As is typical in small, flexible teams, the areas of responsibility are not strictly separated—everyone pitches in where needed.
A dedicated and experienced team you can rely on 100%—even when time is of the essence.
