A Boost for Bicycle Safety Training!
Hop on your bike and start pedaling! For children, biking offers a sense of freedom and independence—yet it also involves dangers that are difficult for the youngest road users to fully grasp. In the Verkehrswacht’s bicycle safety training program, elementary school children learn how to ride their bikes safely. Together with Verkehrswacht Bochum e.V., K&L Verlag is also providing an interactive coloring and activity book that reinforces this knowledge in a playful way and encourages in-depth engagement.
We believe: “This book increases our children’s safety on the road”—and we’re happy to support that!
Our commitment to young cyclists
What do traffic signs mean? When is my bike road-safe? Why should I wear a helmet? And what else do I need to watch out for on the road?
To help prepare for the bike safety test and promote safer cycling, the coloring and workbook “Kinder sicher im Straßenverkehr” (Keeping Kids Safe on the Road) combines child-friendly information, charming coloring pages, and memorable learning activities. Third- and fourth-grade girls and boys can use it to deepen and expand their knowledge. Posters to hang in the classroom, along with additional videos and other digital content, further enhance the learning experience.
The integration of state-of-the-art digital augmented reality technology via the free Kim & Luis app is particularly exciting and engaging. By correctly solving all the tasks, the children gradually make a virtual bicycle road-safe—and are rewarded for their participation with a working bell, a bright light, and much more.
Spoke reflectors increase children’s safety in traffic. That’s why the Bochum Traffic Safety Association is also providing reflectors for children to improve their visibility.
It is only through the support of many local companies that the learning kits—consisting of workbooks, a poster, and an app—can be distributed free of charge to elementary school children in the city of Bochum.
We’re happy to be part of this and support this important project with our sponsorship.
