Important questions about our on-site services
How do we proceed in the event of an unplanned machine breakdown on site?
First, we assess the situation and document the fault pattern, operating status, and available measurement or fault data. Then, we determine whether immediate action is possible or if further diagnostics, spare parts, or removal are required. We coordinate the next steps with operations, maintenance, and occupational safety. The goal is to reach a sound decision without causing additional damage through uncoordinated restart attempts.
What tasks can be carried out without removing the machine?
Without disassembly, depending on the machine and accessibility, inspections, measurements, alignment, balancing, and certain assembly and correction work are possible. Extensive winding work, heavy mechanical processing, or deep internal damage, however, often require a workshop visit. Therefore, we check the available space, lifting options, safety conditions, and required testing equipment beforehand.
How do we use condition data to plan the scope of a plant shutdown?
Measurement data and findings help prioritize problematic machines and narrow down the likely scope of work. From this, spare parts requirements, personnel, special tools, and timeframes can be determined. We combine current data with operational history and the criticality of the system. This allows for more needs-based planning of downtime, without overlooking necessary reserves for issues that may only become apparent after dismantling.
What information do we need for a quick initial deployment plan?
For initial planning, we need the machine type, location, fault description, time of malfunction, and current system status. Measurement data, fault logs, photos, and information on hazards, accessibility, lifting options, and available spare parts are helpful in the preparation. Equally important are a technical contact person and the available work window. This allows us to more effectively allocate the team, equipment, and next diagnostic steps.
How do we reduce risks during dismantling and reassembly on site?
We clarify anchor points, weights, space requirements, access for utilities, energy insulation, and necessary lifting equipment before work begins. Components, connections, and settings are clearly documented and labeled. A coordinated assembly and testing plan supports safe recommissioning.
When is temporary, continuous on-site monitoring useful?
It is helpful when an anomaly occurs only sporadically, depends on load or process, or cannot be reliably detected during a short, single measurement. Vibrations, temperatures, or operating conditions can be compared over a defined period. Measurement duration and channels are adapted to the fault hypothesis and criticality.
